Six things that turn a straightforward job into an expensive one, and exactly what we do about each.
The deposit disappears
A large deposit is taken, work stops at forty percent, and the fundi stops answering. We work to staged payments against milestones with an M-Pesa receipt at every stage, so you are never far out of pocket relative to the work actually done.
The quotation creeps
The job quoted at one figure invoices at another. Anything found once a wall or the ground is opened becomes a written change order you approve before we carry on. Nothing reaches the invoice that you have not already agreed.
The pump is sized to the taps
The single most common technical fault we are called to. A pump specified against the number of fittings instead of the head it lifts runs constantly and burns out within two years. We size against head and realistic demand, and fit dry-run protection as standard.
The borehole has no permit
A hole drilled without a WRA permit and a NEMA licence is illegal, hard to regularise, and becomes a problem the day you sell. We do not put a rig on site until both are in hand, and we quote them as separate visible lines.
The fall is assumed, not set
Waste runs fail more often from wrong fall than from bad joints. Too shallow and solids settle; too steep and the water outruns them. Both end as a line that blocks every few months and gets rodded instead of corrected once.
The PPR joint was rushed
Nearly every PPR failure we attend is a fusion joint under-heated, over-heated or twisted while cooling. It holds for months, then lets go inside a wall. We time every joint and pressure-test every run before it is covered.

- We answer 24 hours a day and aim to have a licensed plumber at your gate within 90 minutes across central Nairobi. Outer areas and estates with gate clearance take longer, and we will give you a realistic time on the call rather than an optimistic one.
- What does the callout cost?
- KES 2,000 in business hours, deducted from the invoice if you go ahead with the repair. Nights, Sundays and public holidays are higher and we tell you the figure before we set off, never on arrival.
- Will you quote over the phone?
- No, because a price given without seeing the fault is a guess. We will always tell you the callout on the phone. The repair price comes in writing after we have seen it, before any work starts.
- How do you take payment?
- M-Pesa against a receipt for each stage, or bank transfer. On larger jobs we work to a staged schedule tied to milestones. We do not ask for a large deposit before materials are on site.
- Are you licensed and insured?
- Yes. Our NCA registration and public liability insurance details go out in writing with your quotation, before work starts, so you can check them yourself. Borehole work is carried out under the appropriate WRA permit and NEMA licence, which we obtain as part of the job and show you separately on the quote.
