Water Pump and Booster Set Installation in Nairobi

Most pump failures are sizing failures

The commonest fault we are called to is a pump that was sized to the number of taps rather than to the head it has to lift and the flow the house actually uses. It runs constantly, cycles on and off, and burns out inside two years. Replacing it with the same pump repeats the problem.

How a pump should be specified

  • Head: the vertical distance from the pump to the highest outlet, plus friction losses along the run. A tank on a three-storey tower in Kilimani is a very different duty from a ground tank.
  • Flow: realistic simultaneous demand, not the sum of every fitting in the house.
  • Suction condition: whether it is drawing from an underground tank or being fed from above.
  • Pressure vessel size, the single most neglected component. An undersized vessel is why a pump hunts.

What we install

Surface booster sets, multistage pressure pumps, submersibles for boreholes and underground tanks, and variable-speed sets where the pressure needs to stay constant across a large house. We fit dry-run protection as standard: a pump that runs dry because the tank emptied is the second most common failure in Nairobi, and the protection costs a fraction of the pump.

Controls and changeover

Where a property runs solar backup or a generator, the pump needs a proper changeover rather than being moved between sockets. We wire it to specification and label it, so the next person who works on the system can understand it.
