Instant showers and the pressure problem

An instant electric shower needs both power and pressure. The commonest complaint in Nairobi apartments, the shower trips or runs cold, is usually not the unit. It is either a supply that cannot deliver the flow the heater needs to modulate, or a circuit that was never rated for the load. We check both before selling anyone a new shower.

Gravity from a tank one storey up will not run most instant showers properly. That is a pump problem, not a shower problem, and swapping the unit will not fix it.

Renovations

On a bathroom refit the plumbing sequence matters more than the tiling. First fix, the pipework in the wall and floor, has to be finished, pressure-tested and photographed before anything is covered. We photograph every wall before it is closed and hand the images over, so that the next person who drills into that wall knows what is behind it.

Fittings

We will install fittings you have bought. We will also tell you honestly if a fitting is going to fail, very cheap cartridge mixers and chrome-plated plastic traps are the two we see back most often, and we put that in writing so there is no argument later about who chose what.
